Building a Fence…

Today I helped build a fence. I always like to see what lessons I can take away from such labor and apply to other areas of life. Here is my first attempt:

Lining the sights
When you first start a project… choose a goal… figure out what you want to do… you have to visualize how it will look and get at least a general idea of

Digging the holes
Take action. Shortly after you’ve had the goal, you have to ‘dig’ in…
You have to Just Do It!!

Realigning
After the first pole, you then have to ensure everything is aligned. Perhaps you realize the next one was a bit too far…

Cementing the poles
Now get back to work. This part has a lot of steps that have to be done concurrently: place the framework, make the cement, and lay the foundation in which the frame will stand tall. Support your frame so that your foundation can set overnight.

Do this one at a time. Repeat as many times as needed.

(This is as for as we got today… will continue tomorrow!)

Applying the fence

Fastening

Quality Assurance

Done

More or less…

Unfortunately, we didn't get all the supplies in the beginning, so we had to run back n forth getting stuff we belatedly realized we were missing.
So, even before you start… once your goal is made, find out what you will need, and gather all the resources beforehand in order to reduce wasted time.
