This is so fucking true.

And it’s so easy to slip. To forget this and fall into a death spiral of antipathy and self loathing. All because you fucked around and got knocked up by their infective hype and their dirty glamour.

You start wondering why you’re not very well known. Why no one comments on your posts talking about the everyday, hard work it requires to actually build something. You wonder why you’re not making enough money to just hop on a plane and go to another country or buy a fancy condo with #view.

You start to regret taking a massively huge paycut that just barely allows you to live so that you can focus all your time and money on building this thing.

You start losing faith in the very thing you felt was your life. Or worse, you start feeling like you’re not the right person to be building this. That you’re just a talentless fuck that’s wasting his time trying to build something someone like that other self-entitled “entrepreneur” and “growth hacker” advertising what he did to make 6 figures in 6 months could do better, faster, and get people to actually care about it.

But then you read some 🔥 shit like this and it all comes back to you.

You remember that you never started doing this to be an entrepreneur. In fact, you don’t even like being an entrepreneur. It’s so much work and you rarely ever get to do the thing you are good at. Instead you have to learn to delegate and let your team do the stuff while you focus on everything else keeping it all together.

You remember that you have actual people depending on you and employed because of you and that you got them all to believe in your vision enough to actually take paycuts and spend their time and energy building it with you.

You remember that your real supporters aren’t those likes and shares and comments on Instagram. That don’t mean shit besides free marketing on top of your actual marketing budget.

You realize what this is all about: Building something someone else will actually use. Not just talk about and wish for.

You realize that you’re a fucking genie. You make wishes happen.

Until you’ve made that wish happen, you’re going back in the bottle.

Because at the end of the day; people will remember the ones who actually made the wish come true. And evantually curse the fakers for the charlatans they are.

At the end of the day, you are the true winner for having lived the life you enjoyed.

Because you didn’t just talk the talk. You made yourself a sidewalk and shoes and whatever else was necessary to walk the walk.

And that’s how you can be the genuine person others will evantually want to be.

I don’t know much. I haven’t even built my own thing yet.

But in the past 2.5 years working for amazing people who are building cool shit I believe in, I’ve learned that much.

Day 11 of my #100DayChallenge

#pathofatrillionaire is my journey to build things that make me excited. I want it be a well documented and cooperative adventure that other people can learn from and be a part of. I would love your help.
